Running a small husky kennel in Lapland is a dream come true – but it’s also a big challenge. Our dogs are the heart of everything we do. Their wellbeing is our top priority, even in times when we may not have any guests at all.

🩺 Health Care

Regular vet check-ups, annual vaccinations, deworming, and preventative care – keeping our dogs healthy requires constant attention. Even when no dog is sick, these costs add up quickly. We follow the advice of our trusted veterinarian to make sure every dog stays in top condition.

🍖 Dog Food

Just like your car needs fuel, our dogs need energy to run! We feed them high-quality dry food and meat specifically designed for working dogs, plus supplements for muscles, digestion, and stamina.

Each dog eats about 1 kg of food per day – and with 29 hungry mouths, that adds up fast.

📌 Contribute to a dog’s food: 3,400 SEK (~300 EUR) per year or 340 SEK (~30 EUR) per month

Any amount is welcome – every bit helps and goes directly to the dogs.

🏠 Kennel & Equipment

Dog care doesn’t stop at food and health. Maintaining a safe and functional kennel is just as important. Dog houses and fences need regular upkeep, sleds and ATVs need fuel and maintenance, and gear like harnesses, lines, and booties (dog socks) wear out quickly – especially in tough Arctic conditions.

💡 One bootie lasts about 100 km and costs 20 SEK – we go through hundreds if not thousands each year!

Investments with Financial Support from Region Norrbotten and the EU

In the summer of 2025, we will continue to expand our kennel. Two additional enclosures will be built for the dogs to ensure we still have enough space when some of our dogs retire. We will also install a training wheel for the dogs, allowing us to ensure consistent training regardless of weather or trail conditions.

There will also be something new for our guests: in addition to two camper parking spaces at the kennel, we will be building a wellness area with a sauna and hot tub — right next to the dogs. These projects are partially funded by Region Norrbotten and the European Union.
